Backflow Prevention Devices:

The City is conducting a system-wide update of its Backflow/Cross-Connection Program, according California Department of Public Health regulations. 

Backflow devices are designed to prevent customers’ water from entering the distribution system and impacting everyone's water purity.  They are generally required to be installed at businesses like restaurants and auto shops and at homes that use water wells for irrigation.
